Middle School: trusted role models for the years that matter most
Adolescence is a special time — and sometimes a difficult one. Our teachers respect that, teaching with clarity and energy while being people students are excited to learn from.

Middle school curriculum
Judaic Studies
Boys begin the life-long journey of Gemara, with a focus on skills building and developing a love for learning. Girls study Yahadut in depth with the highly engaging Living Lessons series.
Chumash, Navi, Tefillah, Halacha, the weekly Parsha and general Jewish knowledge are further developed in scope and skill — and kriah fluency remains a priority in every grade.
General Studies
Rich reading, continued grammar, and a focus on writing across genres. Saxon Math continues for logical development. Students study earth, life and physical science in depth, American history from the Civil War to today, early world civilizations, and civics and American government.
PE and the arts are staples, and STEAM learning is integrated throughout.
Growing into leaders
More than academics
Separate classes in 7–8
Separate-gender classes in grades 7 and 8 let boys and girls learn in the setting that serves them best.
Student Council
A self-governing student body that plans school-wide programs and builds real leadership skills.
8th grade enterprise
Eighth graders run fundraising events — community dinners are a fan favorite — learning hard work, customer service and money management.
The 8th grade trip
A super special end-of-year trip, funded in part by the class's own efforts all year long.

Ready for what's next
Prepared for high school and beyond
PHA graduates head to high school with strong skills, strong values and a strong sense of who they are — and many go on to spend at least a year of study in Israel.
